GREAT NEWS! Your phone calls and emails have been heard, and the State now has a Senate bill which is identical to our original Assembly bill A4520! Having an identical bill in BOTH houses will speed up the process to get this important correction into law!

A4520, with Assemblymen McKeon and DeAngelo as primary Sponsors has been referred to Assembly Tourism, Gaming and the Arts Committee. A complete text version of the bill can be found here:

S3133, with Senator Van Drew as the Primary Sponsor was just posted today and is identical to A4520 mentioned above. A complete text version of the bill can be found here:

These bills will exempt “Shore Counties” (those in the 5th and 6th class) from the various state and local taxes on transient accommodations imposed under A1753 that was signed into law back in July, that took effect 10/1/2018.

With the legislature in session these next two weeks, we will need action from all of you to gain additional support by soliciting additional legislators to co-sponsor these bills. Please keep an eye on our home page for the latest “call to action” that we need from you, which will be posted tomorrow, 10/17/2018.

Thank you for your support in helping us save our shore tourism from this dangerous tax!
